Handmade Ceramic Jar Candle • Maria Tallchief
Our ceramic jar candles are inspired by the life and times of heroines who have inspired us. Flicker & Flora's Anna explains:
"The scents named after women I call the “Luminaries Collection” because they’re all inspired by women in history who helped light our way. Typically, I start with a particular woman in mind, then match the fragrance to parts of her life. So, for instance, Mary Todd Lincoln has a strong Prosecco note because she was known for her dinner parties which she would put on to helped Abraham Lincoln with diplomatic relations. Maria Tallchief was the first American prime ballerina. She was a Native American from the Osage tribe, so the earthy carrot notes on that one are inspired by the tribe’s connection to the earth and nature. Then the spicy notes are inspired by her signature ballet role in Firebird. So yes, each of the scents is inspired by elements of the woman’s life and work.
Each 8 oz candle is equally stunning and durable and handmade from start to finish in our studio. All candles are made with 100% sustainably grown and harvested soy wax and premium fragrance oils.
